Welcome to Rock Hill’s website. We really appreciate you checking us out. The best way to get to know us is to come and experience one of our worship gatherings or Missional Communities. But we also know that before you do that you will want to know some things about who we are. This page is put together to help give you a taste of what you will experience at one of our gatherings. Additionally, we try to answer many of the initial questions you might have.
What should I wear?
Wear whatever you are comfortable wearing. Most of our congregation wears what you would see people wearing to the office on ‘Casual Friday’.
I have kids, do you have activities for them?
Yes we do. We have an Infant Nursery (newborns to 18 months), a Toddler Nursery (18 months to 3 years), and Kids Church (preschool to 3rd Grade).
Please arrive a few minutes early to sign your child in to the nursery and/or kid’s church. You and your child will be given a numbered tag, to ensure that you are the only one able to pick them up after the service. We love our children here at Rock Hill and have made many efforts (including background checks on all our volunteers) to ensure their safety.
After Worshiping though music, the kids are dismissed to the classrooms downstairs. An announcement will be given, so you will be sure not to miss the Que.
What should I expect?
When you arrive on Sunday morning at 10am you should expect tall ceiling, fairly bright green walls, and about 150 other people grabbing coffee and finding a good place to sit. Worship will begin at about 10:02 and will last about 15 minutes. During our worshiping through music we will take an offering. If this is your first time here, please let the offering plates pass by. For those of us who call Rock Hill Community Church home, this is another opportunity to worship by giving back to our Father with what he has already given to us. After this time we have a short fellowship break to connect with others in the church and kids are dismissed to their classrooms. After time to fill up on coffee, we sit down for the sermon. Sermons at Rock Hill are bible centered, focusing on Jesus and what He stands for. After the sermon the service ends with worshiping through music and prayer.
Who comes to Rock Hill?
We are ordinary people coming together for a common goal: to learn about, love, and live like Jesus. We believe that He has a plan for us, that He has a plan for this city, and that He uses ordinary people like us to live out his plan.
Where should I park?
There is a parking lot directly across the street from Rock Hill where you may park for free.
How does Rock Hill do communion?
At Rock Hill, we practice what is called “open communion.” What we mean by that is that you do not have to be a member of Rock Hill to participate with us, but you do have to be a member of “the family of God.” Meaning, if you are a Christian who has repented of their sin and are trusting Jesus to save you, then you are welcome to participate with us. We say this because there are a lot of people at our services that do not yet follow Jesus, they are still trying to figure this faith thing out. This is exciting to us as a church because all of us have been there at some point, however, only those who are trusting in Christ are welcome at the Communion Table. We don’t want to be hypocrite’s, right?
